Intesive Assessment and Findings for Government Reporting Nonprofit

A small nonprofit that manages and provides technical assistance for performance reporting of programs funded by the Department of Justice’s “Violence Against Women Act” grants program was working with a series of manual and inefficient data storage solution and analysis processes. The organization needed operational and data management recommendations to improve the efficiency of their work of collecting, analyzing, and santizing data and providing reports to the DOJ and Congress on a regular basis.

Build conducted a short-term intensive assessment of the entire data management cycle process. We made a series of recommendations on improving and upgrading base line technology and hardware so the organization had the processing capacity to run data routines in an efficient manner. Build also recommended better data and analysis tools, including identifying improvements to managing training and support tasks. Finally, Build identified tools to improve data visualizations in PDF reports. These findings helped develop a nimbler and less siloed approach to team work.
