Technology Roadmap and Systems Replacement for a Global NGO

The Story

This global, USAID project-focused NGO wanted to ensure a future in which all staff, contractors, and volunteers would have access to the program and operations information they needed, at the time they needed it, regardless of where in the world they did their work. They wanted to avoid the fate of some of their NGO peers—mired in outdated and inefficient data systems, leading to decreased effectiveness.

Build Consulting worked collaboratively with the client to craft a roadmap to replace or enhance all information systems, redesign their global IT infrastructure, and create a new approach to IT governance and staffing. We then served in an interim CIO capacity to lead software selections and implementations, completing the entire roadmap within 18 months—a very aggressive timeframe—which was a tribute to the organization’s resolve and cross-department collaborative energy.
