Debbie CameronPartner

Debbie Cameron’s decade of experience at nonprofits before joining Build prepared her well to be Partner. Large engagements have allowed her to develop a deep expertise in project management and prioritization. Debbie has interacted with audiences that spanned entry-level to executive, which gives her many lenses to look at the recommendations and solutions Build provides to our clients. This also allows her to understand the change management required for any strategic initiative.  Debbie has consistently demonstrated an ability to get things done amidst conflict and challenges, and she is a creative problem-solver.

I am in this career because I love a challenge. I love taking on my client’s challenges and partnering with them to define a solution that will work for their unique needs and strengths. And social issues are very important to me, so Build offers me the ability to do work that I love for organizations that I care about.” — Debbie Cameron

Background and Affiliations

Prior to joining Build, Debbie Cameron was the Director of CRM for World Wildlife Fund for three years, where she led a Blackbaud CRM implementation. She supervised a project team of over twenty employees, directors, and vendors; oversaw the budget; connected stakeholders, managed risks, and worked with seven outside consultancies on this massive CRM project. The testing phase of this project involved eight design teams and over 100 stakeholders. Debbie created a User Acceptance Testing effort, and managed all the resources, processes, and inputs and outputs of this testing. Debbie also oversaw the tracking of business requirements to ensure requirements were met by out-of-box functionality, many custom-built modules, and oversaw the business process changes required by the new CRM.

Debbie also has extensive experience working for a decade for large consulting firms (Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint) providing management and IT consulting services in the public and private sectors both domestically and internationally, where her client-base spanned multiple industries including Nonprofits, Financial Services, Professional Services, Telecommunications, Government Contracting, and Higher Education.

Debbie graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Accounting Information Systems, and she is an active member in the Association of Change Management Professionals.

She was formally commended by the Executive Team at WWF for developing creative solutions when impediments and challenges were identified, and received 4 awards during the life of the CRM project she managed.

Experience

Debbie’s experience includes project management, enterprise technology implementations, client management, process analysis and design, gathering user and system requirements for out-of-the-box and custom solutions, documenting system setup and procedures, training end-users, system testing, report design and development, and interface and conversion design and testing.

Debbie reads a room very well and knows how to manage personalities and dynamics to get the work done. Because she has managed and been a leader in so many different projects, she is good at spotting risks and planning to mitigate them.

Debbie is known at Build for her extensive CRM experience, and the breadth of her background with large project implementations.
