Jo Butler joined Build after working in nonprofits for over a decade. She began her career working with the nonprofit sector as a data entry coordinator, and has since held practically every position handling nonprofit data, giving her an excellent view of both sides of the client/consultant picture.  Jo understands from experience the challenges inherent in fundraising, development, financial reconciliation, and constituent relationship tracking. Jo brings her long standing reputation as the “go-to” person for all things data to her Senior Nonprofit CRM Manager consulting work at Build.

Background and Affiliations

Prior to being recruited to join Build, Jo managed the World Wildlife Fund’s Development department’s data systems and related projects. She was the lead facilitator and business analyst for the Development department and was responsible for making strategic decisions that addressed tactical obstacles and processes.

While at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) Jo defined and developed strategies to meet unrestricted funding goals, and she was responsible for the integrity and the ongoing accuracy of donor related data. Prior to ICRW, she was at The Marrow Foundation (TMF), where she managed and maintained overall integrity of all donor data in Raiser’s Edge database.

Jo Butler is Blackbaud University Raiser’s Edge Professionally Certified, and Luminate Online Fundamentals Certified.

Experience

Jo’s natural curiosity and desire for knowledge empowered her to learn the intricacies of nonprofit development operations management as well and the technical functionality and design of many popular CRM platforms over her career.

At Build she has experience serving clients in a variety of roles on projects, including developing roadmaps, leading implementations, supporting product adoption, and streamlining existing systems. She loves sharing her experience in CRM management.

Jo’s experience analyzing and optimizing business processes and activating them through technical systems has been invaluable at Build, and she has guided many organizations on their journeys to utilize technology to accomplish their missions.
